Product Description

The double frame is what lifts this above an ordinary single-stone ring. One row of small stones is a halo; two rows stepped outward build a shallow pyramid, so light runs down the sides of the setting as well as across the top and the centre stone appears to sit in a well. It is the construction used on Art Deco cocktail rings, and it is why those rings look architectural rather than merely sparkly.

What you are looking at

Red and gold is the most loaded colour pairing in Indian dress — it is the bridal combination in most of the country — so this ring reads as celebratory whether or not you intend it to. That is worth knowing before buying it for everyday wear.

It is a substantial ring and the second most expensive here. Wear it alone on the index or middle finger, for an occasion, with plain clothes that let the colour do the work.

On the hand

A deep red rectangular stone, stepped-cut and set flat, framed by not one but two rows of small clear stones that step outward and slightly downward from it. The gold tone here is warmer and pinker than the other gold rings in this range, which suits a red stone considerably better than a yellow tone would.

How it fits

The band is adjustable rather than sized: a tapered strip coiled so the ends overlap, which can be eased a little wider or a little tighter. Adjust it off the finger and in small movements — working the same band open and shut repeatedly is what eventually fatigues the metal.

Colours and availability

One colourway is stocked, in the deep red shown.

Metal, stones and care

American Diamond is the Indian trade name for cubic zirconia: furnace-grown, hard enough to hold a sharp facet edge, and a little more dispersive than diamond. The coloured stones beside it are glass, because glass takes a deeper shade than CZ will.

Underneath the colour it is brass. That is why it sits with some weight rather than feeling like foil, and why it holds its shape.

Nothing here is hallmarked and nothing here holds resale value. What it holds is design: shapes drawn from a jewellery tradition several centuries old, made at a weight and a price that let you match a piece to one outfit without thinking twice about it. That is a perfectly good reason to buy jewellery, and it is the only claim this page makes.

Sizing is the usual worry when jewellery is bought for someone else, and it barely applies here. Necklaces and sets fasten with an adjustable chain, earrings need only a pierced lobe, and nothing has to be measured in advance. It arrives boxed and ready to give.

Spray scent first, dress, then put this on. Wipe it clean when it comes off and keep it closed away from damp air and from harder jewellery. This is a prepaid order like every other on Keyura; no COD option exists.

Yes, warmer and pinker. That suits a red stone considerably better than a yellow tone would.

Plain clothes that let the colour do the work, and no other rings on that hand.
No. It is brass with a gold-tone plating, and it is not sold as gold. What it gives you is the colour and the weight of a far more expensive ring in something you can wear to a wedding without worrying about it.
That depends almost entirely on what it meets. Water, soap, hand sanitiser, perfume and cooking oil are what wear plating thin, so putting the ring on last and taking it off first is the whole of the maintenance.
No — glass and cubic zirconia, hand-set in the Indian manner. They are chosen for colour and for how they sit against gold tone rather than for hardness.
A dry soft cloth only. Never a dip cleaner or a metal polish: a dip will strip plating outright and polish wears it thin at exactly the raised points you want to keep bright.
Yes. The band is an open coil rather than a closed circle, so you widen or narrow it by a few millimetres with your fingers. It fits most adult sizes, roughly a UK J to a UK S.
Off the finger, gradually. Opening and closing the same band repeatedly is what tires the metal, so set it once to your finger and leave it there.
Better not. Water, soap, hand sanitiser, perfume and cooking oil are what shorten a plated ring's life. Put it on last when dressing and take it off first when washing up or bathing.
A dry soft cloth only. Never a silver dip or polish — a dip strips an oxidised finish completely and takes gold plating with it, and polish wears plating thin at the high points.
