Pointed green stones are set as a square around a clear stone at the centre, with small pearls hanging from the lower edge. The band adjusts.
The outline is square but nothing in it is: the stones are pointed ovals radiating outward from the centre, and it is their tips meeting at the corners that produce the square. Building a straight-edged shape out of curved elements is considerably harder than cutting a square plate, and it is why the face catches light from many angles at once rather than as one flat panel.
A single colourless stone sits in the middle. Clear against green is a brightness contrast rather than a hue contrast, which is stronger at a distance — so the centre reads first and the green is understood as the field around it. A second green stone there would have made the whole face one undifferentiated mass.
Pearls hang from the lower edge, giving a rigid square face some movement and a definite bottom. Without them the square could sit any way up; with them it has an orientation.
Adjustable at the back, so no ring size is needed. Sit the pearls hanging downward and the corners square to the knuckle.
Wear it alone with the hand bare. Green suits ivory, mustard, maroon and green itself, and the piece is dressy enough for weddings and festivals.
Weddings, festivals, pujas, receptions and daytime functions.
Moderate. The stones stand proud and the pearls hang, so it is an occasion ring rather than an all-day one.
This is brass given an oxidised, antique-silver finish rather than solid silver. The metal is deliberately darkened and then the raised surfaces are polished back, so the blackening stays in the recesses while the high points stay bright. That contrast is the entire point of oxidised work — it is what makes every engraved line, pierced opening and raised edge read separately instead of dissolving into one shiny surface. It also means the finish is not uniform by design, and small variations between pieces are normal rather than faults.
Put it on after perfume, hand cream and sanitiser, and take it off before washing up, swimming or sleeping. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only. Do not use silver polish, dip cleaners or toothpaste — they strip the blackening out of the recesses, which is the one kind of damage that cannot be undone on an oxidised piece. Store it dry in a pouch, away from other rings that could scratch it.
