A worked antique silver face carries deep red stones with small pearls hanging below it, so the ring has movement as well as colour. The band adjusts.
Most of the oxidised range uses one material and one colour. This piece runs three against each other — matte blackened silver, saturated red stone, and the soft sheen of pearl — and each behaves differently under light. The metal absorbs it, the stones hold it as a flat colour, and the pearls bounce it softly. That is what makes this the most ornate ring here, and why it reads as bridal rather than everyday.
The pearls are not set flush into the face; they hang below it. That is unusual on a ring, where anything dangling normally gets in the way, and it is only workable because they are small and sit just under the rim. The effect is a little movement at the edge of the piece as the hand moves — a detail borrowed from earrings and necklaces, where fringes do the same job.
Adjustable at the back, so no ring size is needed. Ease it open with both hands and set it once.
A wedding and festival ring. Wear it alone with the hand bare, and keep other jewellery silver-toned. It belongs with maroon, bottle green, mustard and ivory, and with silk or heavy handloom.
Weddings, festivals, receptions, pujas and evening functions.
Moderate. It is an occasion ring — the hanging pearls mean it is best taken off before anything hands-on.
This is brass given an oxidised, antique-silver finish rather than solid silver. The metal is deliberately darkened and then the raised surfaces are polished back, so the blackening stays in the recesses while the high points stay bright. That contrast is the entire point of oxidised work — it is what makes every engraved line, pierced opening and raised edge read separately instead of dissolving into one shiny surface. It also means the finish is not uniform by design, and small variations between pieces are normal rather than faults.
Put it on after perfume, hand cream and sanitiser, and take it off before washing up, swimming or sleeping. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only. Do not use silver polish, dip cleaners or toothpaste — they strip the blackening out of the recesses, which is the one kind of damage that cannot be undone on an oxidised piece. Store it dry in a pouch, away from other rings that could scratch it.
