A deep red oval cabochon sits at the centre of a silver-tone face, surrounded first by a ring of smaller red stones and then by a close halo of seed pearls around the outer edge. The band adjusts.
The composition is strictly concentric: one large stone, a circle of small ones, a circle of pearls. Each ring is a different size and a different material, so the eye steps outward through three distinct zones rather than taking the face in at once. That stepping is what makes a ring of this diameter read as considered rather than simply large — a single big stone in a plain mount of the same width would look blunt by comparison.
Pearls are softer and lighter in tone than the red stones, so putting them on the outside lets the face fade towards its edge instead of stopping hard. It frames the colour without competing with it. Reverse the order — pearls inside, red outside — and the bright centre would be lost behind a ring of strong colour.
Adjustable at the back, so no ring size is needed. Ease it open with both hands and set it once.
A full statement ring — wear it alone with the hand bare. Red suits maroon, bottle green, mustard and ivory, and the piece is dressy enough for weddings and festivals.
Weddings, festivals, receptions, pujas and evening functions.
Moderate. The stones and pearls stand slightly proud, so it is an occasion ring rather than an all-day one.
This is brass given an oxidised, antique-silver finish rather than solid silver. The metal is deliberately darkened and then the raised surfaces are polished back, so the blackening stays in the recesses while the high points stay bright. That contrast is the entire point of oxidised work — it is what makes every engraved line, pierced opening and raised edge read separately instead of dissolving into one shiny surface. It also means the finish is not uniform by design, and small variations between pieces are normal rather than faults.
Put it on after perfume, hand cream and sanitiser, and take it off before washing up, swimming or sleeping. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only. Do not use silver polish, dip cleaners or toothpaste — they strip the blackening out of the recesses, which is the one kind of damage that cannot be undone on an oxidised piece. Store it dry in a pouch, away from other rings that could scratch it.
