A pink stone sits in a worked antique silver face, the metal cut and blackened around it. The band is open at the back and adjusts.
Oxidised silver is a cold surface, and nearly everything set into it is cold too — turquoise, aqua, blue, clear. Pink is the exception in this range and it behaves noticeably differently: being a warm colour on a cold ground, it does not blend at any distance, and it softens a finish that can otherwise read as severe. If blackened silver has felt too heavy or too tribal for you, this is the piece that answers that.
Pink stones are usually set in gold or rose gold, where warm metal and warm stone agree with each other. Setting pink into blackened silver is the harder and less common choice, and the result is sharper — there is no warmth in the metal to meet the stone halfway, so the colour stays distinctly itself rather than merging into a general glow.
Adjustable at the back, so no ring size is needed. Ease it open with both hands and set it once.
It suits blush, ivory, grey, white and dusty rose, and works with Western clothes as readily as with a kurta. Wear it alone or with one plain narrow band.
Parties, daily wear, office, college and daytime functions.
Light, with the stone sitting close enough to the finger not to catch.
This is brass given an oxidised, antique-silver finish rather than solid silver. The metal is deliberately darkened and then the raised surfaces are polished back, so the blackening stays in the recesses while the high points stay bright. That contrast is the entire point of oxidised work — it is what makes every engraved line, pierced opening and raised edge read separately instead of dissolving into one shiny surface. It also means the finish is not uniform by design, and small variations between pieces are normal rather than faults.
Put it on after perfume, hand cream and sanitiser, and take it off before washing up, swimming or sleeping. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only. Do not use silver polish, dip cleaners or toothpaste — they strip the blackening out of the recesses, which is the one kind of damage that cannot be undone on an oxidised piece. Store it dry in a pouch, away from other rings that could scratch it.
Type: Adjustable ring. Metal: Brass. Finish: Oxidised antique silver tone. Work: Bezel-set pink stone in a cut and blackened face. Fit: Adjustable, open band.
Expect some variation between pieces. Oxidation is applied by hand and no two items take it identically, so the depth of darkening can differ slightly from the photograph and between two of the same design. That is characteristic of the process, not a defect.
Costume jewellery earns its place by letting you wear a shape you would never commission in precious metal. The designs here come out of a tradition centuries old; the materials do not pretend to, and we do not describe them as though they did.
