A flower built in several overlapping layers of patterned petals rises from the finger, with a blue stone set deep at its centre. The band adjusts.
Most metal flowers are a single layer with the petals cut around one circle. This one stacks several rings of petals, each slightly smaller and set above the one below, so the bloom has real height and the centre sits lower than the outer edge. The eye reads it as a flower opening rather than a flower drawn — and that depth is also why the stone appears to be held inside the bloom rather than mounted on top of it.
Each petal carries its own fine internal cuts rather than being left smooth. On a layered design that matters: without it the stacked rings would read as a series of plain outlines, and the piece would flatten out at any distance. The blackening collects in both the internal cuts and the overlaps between layers, so the structure stays readable.
Blue is cool, like the blackened silver, so it does not fight the metal the way red would; but it is lighter in tone, so it still reads clearly from the recess it sits in. On a deep flower that combination matters — a darker stone set this low would disappear into its own shadow.
Adjustable at the back, so no ring size is needed. Ease it open with both hands and set it once.
Wear it alone with the hand bare. It suits indigo, white, grey, ivory and handloom, and works with Western clothing as readily as traditional dress.
Festivals, parties, daytime functions, weddings and daily wear.
Light for the size, though the bloom stands proud of the finger, so take it off before anything that needs a firm grip.
This is brass given an oxidised, antique-silver finish rather than solid silver. The metal is deliberately darkened and then the raised surfaces are polished back, so the blackening stays in the recesses while the high points stay bright. That contrast is the entire point of oxidised work — it is what makes every engraved line, pierced opening and raised edge read separately instead of dissolving into one shiny surface. It also means the finish is not uniform by design, and small variations between pieces are normal rather than faults.
Put it on after perfume, hand cream and sanitiser, and take it off before washing up, swimming or sleeping. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only. Do not use silver polish, dip cleaners or toothpaste — they strip the blackening out of the recesses, which is the one kind of damage that cannot be undone on an oxidised piece. Store it dry in a pouch, away from other rings that could scratch it.
