A round face is covered in a very fine, dense repeating texture that reads almost as woven cloth rather than metal, blackened throughout. The band adjusts.
The texture here is fine enough that at normal viewing distance you stop reading individual marks and start reading a surface — the same thing that happens with a woven cloth. That is a different effect from the bolder worked pieces, where you can see each cut. It makes the ring quieter and considerably more versatile, because a texture has no motif to clash with anything else you are wearing.
The finer the work, the more it depends on the finish. Marks this small produce almost no shadow of their own, so on polished metal they vanish entirely and the face looks plain. Oxidising fills each one with darkness, which is the only thing that makes a texture at this scale visible at all. It is the clearest demonstration in the range that the blackening is not a colour choice but a way of seeing the work.
Adjustable at the back, so no ring size is needed. Ease it open with both hands and set it once.
This is the most versatile oxidised ring here. With no motif and no colour it clashes with nothing, stacks with anything, and is as appropriate at an office as at a festival.
Daily wear, office, college, travel and festivals.
Light and flat with a smooth overall profile. Nothing catches.
This is brass given an oxidised, antique-silver finish rather than solid silver. The metal is deliberately darkened and then the raised surfaces are polished back, so the blackening stays in the recesses while the high points stay bright. That contrast is the entire point of oxidised work — it is what makes every engraved line, pierced opening and raised edge read separately instead of dissolving into one shiny surface. It also means the finish is not uniform by design, and small variations between pieces are normal rather than faults.
Put it on after perfume, hand cream and sanitiser, and take it off before washing up, swimming or sleeping. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only. Do not use silver polish, dip cleaners or toothpaste — they strip the blackening out of the recesses, which is the one kind of damage that cannot be undone on an oxidised piece. Store it dry in a pouch, away from other rings that could scratch it.
