A fine wire wraps twice around the finger and finishes at two points: an open four-lobed blossom on one side, a round brilliant-cut stone raised in claws on the other. Between them the two bands run parallel, so the whole thing looks like a carefully chosen stack that someone assembled over time.
Buying rings one at a time and building a stack is satisfying but slow, and the results slide out of order within an hour of wearing them. A wrap design gives the same effect permanently: the blossom and the stone stay exactly where they were designed to sit, the bands never drift apart, and the whole piece goes on in one movement.
The blossom is openworked rather than solid, with each lobe outlined in fine metal and left hollow at the centre, which keeps it delicate and lets skin show through. The stone opposite is a round brilliant-cut cubic zirconia in slim claws, set high enough that light enters from the sides — the reason a well-set clear stone looks bright rather than flat. Both bands are very fine, and the complete ring weighs around four grams.
Wear it on the ring or middle finger with the rest of the hand mostly plain. It is understated enough for the office and bright enough for an evening, which makes it one of the more useful pieces to own if you only wear one or two rings. Turn it so the blossom leads for daytime and the stone leads for evening.
The open band adjusts to most fingers, which removes the main difficulty in buying a ring for someone else. A flower and a small stone together read as warm rather than formal, so the piece carries no unintended meaning — useful when buying for a friend, a sister or a daughter.
Openwork petals and claw settings are both fine, exposed detail with very little metal to spare. Under ordinary plating the claws dull first and the stone stops looking bright, because a clear stone depends on bright metal around it. The blossom's openwork goes next. The stainless steel core and anti-tarnish gold plating used here keep both looking clean.
The open wrap construction makes the ring adjustable across most finger sizes. Open and close it gently with finger pressure, and avoid flexing it repeatedly without reason.
Use a dry soft brush around the blossom and the claws, and check occasionally that the stone sits firm. Put the ring on after perfume and lotion. Store it in its pouch, and remove it before swimming, bathing and housework.
