Choosing the right size
Shringar sizing works backwards from the idol: find your Thakur Ji's number first, then buy to it. Families who inherited an idol often do not know the number, in which case the height from base to crown is enough for us to work it out on the enquiry.
About the stones and the zari
AD stones set into a zari ground is the standard combination for deity ornaments: the thread supplies warmth and a little give, the stones supply the light. Neither is precious, and nothing here is sold as gold or as a gemstone.
Shringar in practice
In most homes the deity is bathed and dressed each morning, so shringar gets handled far more often than any jewellery a person wears. That is worth bearing in mind when choosing: a piece that fastens easily will be used, and an awkward one will stay in the box.
Shringar is given as a gift at Janmashtami and at a griha pravesh, and it is an easy one to give — provided you know the recipient's idol number. If you do not, ask; it is a short question and it saves an exchange.
Looking after it
Take the shringar off before snan rather than drying it afterwards. Water is what lifts a plating, and a crown left on through abhishek will not survive many repeats.
All Keyura orders are paid in advance; cash on delivery is not offered.
