Shringar sizing works backwards from the idol: find your Thakur Ji's number first, then buy to it. Families who inherited an idol often do not know the number, in which case the height from base to crown is enough for us to work it out on the enquiry.
Zari is the metallic thread of Banarasi weaving, used here as the body the stones are set into. It gives a softer, warmer gold than sheet metal and allows a little flex, which matters on a piece that has to sit around a cast figure.
Shringar changes with the season and the festival in many households: lighter sets for summer, richer ones for Janmashtami and Diwali, and often a particular colour kept for a particular day.
A new set for Thakur Ji is a common Janmashtami present. The only thing to get right is the idol number, so check it before ordering rather than guessing from a photograph.
Take the shringar off before snan rather than drying it afterwards. Water is what lifts a plating, and a crown left on through abhishek will not survive many repeats.
Deity ornaments are handled more often than worn jewellery, because the idol is bathed and dressed each day. Pieces that fasten simply get used; fiddly ones stay in the box.
Delivery runs two to five working days within India from the day the order is dispatched, and five to twelve working days for international orders; Sundays are not counted. Returns follow the policy published on this site.
Payment is prepaid in every case. We do not run cash on delivery.
