An open gold ring hangs from a turquoise stud, with a small stone set at its centre. Below the ring sits a kundan crescent, and from that falls a full fringe of beads in mixed shades — pink, yellow, green, ruby and blue together.
Available in 7 colours: Red, Black, Multi Color, Pearl White, Purple, Green and Sky Blue. The colour refers to the accent stones and the bead mix. Multi Color is the version shown; the single colour options give the same shape a much calmer, more formal look.
The open ring is the clever part of this design. Most chandbalis are solid across the crescent, which makes them visually heavy. Leaving the upper section as an open circle lets skin and hair show through, so an earring with plenty of length still feels airy.
The mixed bead fringe is also more practical than it first appears. Because it carries several colours at once, it coordinates with almost anything rather than requiring a match, which makes it one of the easier festive earrings to own if you only buy one pair a season.
There are four distinct sections — the stud, the open ring, the kundan crescent and the fringe — and each sits at a slightly different depth. That layering is what gives the earring dimension, and it is why it photographs well even though the individual elements are small.
Post fitting at the lobe. The construction is openwork throughout and the beads are small, so these are noticeably lighter than a solid chandbali of the same size. They are comfortable enough for a long function.
They work with almost any festive outfit because of the mixed colour fringe — try them against plain cream, black, mustard or teal where the bead colours can read individually. Hair back or to one side. A short necklace is fine; keep anything long away, as it will tangle visually with the fringe.
If you only add one festive pair a year, a mixed colour fringe is the sensible choice. Single colour earrings are beautiful but demand an outfit that agrees with them, which in practice means they sit unworn between the two or three occasions they suit. A fringe carrying pink, green, yellow and blue at once will sit comfortably against almost any saree or kurta you already own, because something in the mix will always pick up something in the fabric. It is the least restrictive way to buy colour.
Store them in a zip lock pouch so the bead fringe does not tangle or chip. Put them on after perfume and hairspray, wipe with a dry soft cloth, and keep them away from water.
