Three or four small leaf shapes overlap into a compact cluster, each one textured with fine granular detail, with tiny pearls at the lower tips. The whole earring sits flat against the lobe and is barely larger than a fingernail.
Most small studs are smooth and bright, because polish is the cheapest way to make a tiny object noticeable. Texturing one instead changes what it does: a granular surface scatters light softly rather than flashing, so the earring reads as a warm patch of gold rather than a point of glare. At this scale that is far more flattering, and it looks considerably more expensive than a polished stud of the same size.
Each leaf is modelled separately and overlaps its neighbours so the cluster has real depth rather than being a flat stamped outline. The granulation covers the whole surface of every leaf. At the lower edge, two or three very small pearls sit at the leaf tips, adding a point of pale contrast against the antique gold. The back is flat and the post centred, so the cluster sits straight on the lobe.
There is nothing set into this design beyond the small pearls, so nothing can come loose, and the earring goes with every outfit. For a daily stud that is exactly right.
These go with everything and ask nothing. Wear them to work, to college, while travelling, or as the quiet pair alongside a statement necklace. They also sit well in a second piercing without crowding whatever is above.
Daily wear, office, travel and casual use.
Among the most comfortable pieces here. Flat, light, close to the lobe, with nothing hanging and nothing to catch on hair or a scarf.
This piece is brass finished with a gold-tone plating rather than solid gold, which is what keeps the price where it is and the weight low enough for comfortable wear. Plating is a surface rather than a bulk property, so how long it lasts depends almost entirely on what it is exposed to. Perfume, hairspray, sweat, soap and chlorinated water all shorten its life; a dry cloth after wearing and a closed pouch between wearings extend it considerably. Treated sensibly, the colour holds for a long time.
Put these on after perfume, hairspray and foundation. Wipe with a dry soft cloth after wearing and use a dry soft brush around the stone settings and through any fringe. Store them in a pouch rather than loose in a box, and never use toothpaste, bleach or an ultrasonic cleaner.
