A twisted rope hoop frames a small stone-set flower at its centre, with leaf forms rising on either side and a hexagonal stone-set plate closing the design at the base. Available in Green, Black, Baby Pink and Blue.
South Indian temple jewellery usually fills a solid plate with stones. Setting the same work inside an open twisted hoop changes it completely — the skin shows through around the flower, so the piece stays airy where a solid version would read as heavy, and the rope texture of the frame gives the eye something to follow around the outside. It is a lighter interpretation of a very traditional idea, and it is the reason this pair can be worn to a long function without becoming a burden by the end of it.
The hoop is twisted wire rather than plain, which creates a continuous spiral of highlights around the circle instead of a single flat reflection. Inside it, a flower is set with closely packed coloured stones in individual gold bezels, flanked by two curved leaf shapes that fill the upper corners of the hoop so the frame never looks empty. The hexagonal base below carries its own stone setting and a row of small gold beads along its lower edge, giving the earring a definite stop rather than letting it trail away. Small bead clusters hang at the outer edges for movement. Antique gold throughout.
Green is the traditional temple pairing and the one most often worn with silk. Black reads as modern and goes with everything. Baby Pink and Blue are the softer daytime choices. The gold frame and beadwork stay the same across all four, so the decision is purely about the stones.
These suit silk, handloom and cotton, and they are a good choice for a puja or a temple visit where the style belongs. Hair up or tucked back. Keep the necklace simple or wear none — the earring already has a lot going on.
Festivals, pujas, weddings and traditional functions.
Moderate. The open hoop removes a good deal of metal compared with a solid plate of the same size, so the weight stays reasonable for an evening.
Put these on after perfume, hairspray and foundation — cosmetics shorten the life of plating faster than anything else. Wipe with a dry soft cloth after wearing and use a dry soft brush around the stone settings and through any fringe. Store them in a pouch rather than loose in a box, and never use toothpaste, bleach or an ultrasonic cleaner.
