A thin gold bar bends into a long U that passes through the piercing, with fine chains hanging from each end and a small star charm at the tip of each chain. There is no post and no butterfly back — the earring threads through and stays by its own shape.
A threader is one of the few genuinely different earring constructions. You feed one end through the piercing and let it hang, and the bend in the metal holds it in place. That means no back to lose, nothing to press against the lobe, and an earring you can put on in a second. It also means the length is partly adjustable — how far you pull it through changes how low the charms sit.
The U is formed from a single piece of round wire, polished smooth and kept narrow so it passes through a standard piercing easily. From each end a fine cable chain hangs, and at the bottom of each sits a small flat star, cut rather than cast so the points stay crisp. The two chains are different lengths, which is what gives the earring its slightly scattered, drifting quality rather than a formal matched look.
