A round stone sits at the lobe, and below it hangs a long marquise — a pointed oval — set in a silver frame edged with fine beading. A scalloped bell finished with a white pearl fringe completes the drop.
Available in 11 colours: Baby Pink, Blue White, Sky Blue Yellow, Black, Green, Sea Green, Red White, Baby Pink Sea Green, Ruby, White and Red Green. The colour refers to both stones.
The marquise cut is the reason to choose these over a round or square stone. Pointed at both ends and widest in the middle, it draws a long vertical line that elongates the whole earring and, by extension, flatters the line of the neck. It is the same reason marquise cuts are popular in rings.
Framing it in beaded silver rather than a plain bezel softens those sharp points slightly, so the shape reads as elegant rather than severe.
Tiny raised silver beads run all the way around the frame, catching light in a fine continuous line. Against the smooth glossy stone inside, that granulated border is the main texture in the design and is what marks it as hand finished silver rather than a stamped setting.
Scalloped along its upper edge and pierced through, with a dense pearl fringe below. It is proportioned to the marquise above it — narrow rather than wide — so the whole earring keeps its vertical emphasis instead of spreading at the bottom.
Post fitting, light, and narrow throughout, so they hang close to the face and stay out of the way. Comfortable for long wear.
They suit an open neckline particularly well, where the vertical line has room. Cotton, handloom and simple silks all work. Baby Pink and Sea Green are the softest options, Black and Ruby the strongest. Hair back, other jewellery in plain silver.
The cut of a stone changes the proportion of the whole earring, which is why the same setting in a round, square or marquise stone reads so differently. Round stones are neutral and add no direction. Square stones add structure and a slightly formal, architectural quality. A marquise is the only common cut that is strongly directional, and set vertically it lengthens everything around it, which lifts and slims the visual line beside the face. If you are choosing between similar designs, the stone shape is usually a better guide than the colour.
Store them in a zip lock pouch so the pearl fringe does not tangle. Put them on after perfume and hairspray, wipe with a dry soft cloth, and keep them away from water.
