These oxidised hoop chandbali earrings hang a plain silver circle with a row of jewelled discs. The hoop itself is dark oxidised silver, thin and smooth, and along its lower curve sit gold-tone discs set with turquoise, red and green kundan stones.
Each disc is a small world of its own: a gold circle with a coloured stone at the centre, white kundan petals around it and a fine beaded rim. They are spaced along the hoop rather than crowded, so the dark metal between them gives the eye somewhere to rest.
A small pierced coin drop hangs at the lowest point of each hoop, swinging free, and tiny pearls sit between the discs. At the top, a matching disc forms the stud, so the design reads as complete from every angle.
The dark hoop makes these read as oxidised jewellery from a distance and as kundan up close, which is a useful combination: they work with a handloom cotton saree just as well as with a festive silk one.
Wear your hair up so the full circle is visible, and pair them with oxidised bangles rather than gold ones to keep the balance.
A hoop spreads its weight around the whole circle instead of pulling from one point, so these are more comfortable than a solid chandbali of the same size. The discs are flat against the hoop and the coin drop is light, so nothing knocks against the neck.
Keep the earrings away from water, perfume and hair spray, and wipe them gently with a soft dry cloth rather than polishing hard, which lifts the dark tone from the oxidised hoop. Store them flat in a box so the hoop keeps its round shape.
Designs that bridge oxidised and kundan styles are among the most requested, since they cover both a handloom saree and a festive silk one. That double use is precisely why stock moves quickly, and why we confirm availability before taking an order.
