These olive stone long earrings are unusual from the colour alone. The main drop is a large smooth teardrop stone in a soft olive shade, and a small gold-tone bird rests on its surface, wings folded, as if it has just landed.
Above the drop sits a kundan top built from a red square stone framed by white kundan, with small black stones set at the corners: a combination that is far less common than the usual red and green.
The olive stone is held in a gold-tone frame with a pale pink kundan crescent above it, and clusters of pearl-like beads hang from both sides and from the point of the teardrop, softening the outline. The frame's inner edge is worked in fine beading, which is what keeps such a large flat stone from looking plain.
Olive is a hard colour to find in jewellery, which makes these worth keeping for outfits that would swallow ordinary red and green stones: mustard, rust, bottle green, deep brown and ivory all work beautifully.
Wear your hair back so the bird and the full drop are visible, and keep other jewellery minimal so the unusual colour stays the focus.
The large stone is lighter than it appears because it is a single piece rather than a dense cluster of settings. The earring hangs in a straight line, and the pearl clusters are small, so the movement is gentle rather than swinging.
Keep the earrings away from water, perfume and cosmetics, which mark a large smooth stone more visibly than a faceted one. Wipe them with a soft dry cloth after wearing, and store them flat in a pouch so the stone face is not scratched.
Olive is a niche colour, produced in small quantities precisely because it is not a standard bridal shade. When a batch arrives it tends to go to people who have been waiting for something outside the usual palette, so availability is genuinely unpredictable.
