This is a set rather than a single pair. Two earrings and a matching maang tikka, each built the same way: a round mint green stone framed in clear kundan petals, with small pink and green enamelled leaves trimming the edges and a teardrop kundan at the top.
Available in 5 colours: Sky Blue, Baby Pink, Black, Baby Pink Multi and Sea Green Multi. The colour refers to the central stones.
Buying a tikka separately and trying to match it to earrings almost never works, because stone colour and gold tone vary between batches. A set made together removes that problem entirely — the mint stones are from the same run and the gold is the same polish, so everything sits together as it should.
The enamelled leaves are the detail that lifts this above an ordinary kundan set. Small pink and green leaves are worked around the outer edges of each piece, adding a second colour and a second material to what would otherwise be a simple stone and gold composition.
The tikka hangs on a fine chain with a hook to fasten into the hair, with the same stone framed pendant at its end. Worn at the centre parting, it draws a line down from the hairline that balances the earrings on either side of the face — which is the whole reason the three pieces are worn together.
Smooth mint green cabochons rather than faceted stones, so they hold an even, soft colour. Mint is an unusual choice for bridal jewellery, and that is its appeal: it photographs beautifully in daylight and avoids the heaviness of the usual red and green.
The earrings are post fitting and moderate in weight. The tikka is very light, since most of its length is fine chain.
Pastel and gold lehengas, ivory or cream silk, and anything worn for a daytime ceremony. Hair must be parted in the centre for the tikka to sit correctly. With a full set, keep the necklace simple or leave it off.
If you are assembling bridal jewellery piece by piece, the order matters. Buy the earrings first, since they sit nearest the face and are the hardest to compromise on, then match the tikka to them, and leave the necklace until last because it has the most room to differ without looking wrong. Starting with a set like this one solves the first two steps in a single decision.
Store the set flat in a pouch so the tikka chain does not tangle with the earrings. Put it on after perfume and hairspray, wipe with a dry soft cloth, and keep it away from water.
