A lotus opens at the top of this earring, below it an enamelled band, and below that a broad crescent filled edge to edge with kundan stones and hung with teardrop pearls. This is the largest and most formal design in the range. Available in Grey, Mint, Green, Pink, Black, Blue, Red, Peach and Baby Pink.
Large Indian earrings are almost always assembled from stacked elements rather than cast as one piece, and this is a clear example: lotus, band, crescent. The reason is movement — each section is linked to the next, so the earring flexes as the head turns instead of swinging as a single rigid slab. It also lets the maker change scale between sections, which is why the narrow enamel band in the middle works so well: it gives the eye a rest between two heavily worked areas.
The lotus is picked out in gold with enamel detailing and a coloured stone at its heart. The band beneath carries a run of enamel in the chosen colourway, bordered in gold. The crescent is the main event, packed with uncut-style kundan stones in individual settings across its entire face, with a scalloped lower rim from which teardrop pearls hang on short links. The finish is a warm gold throughout.
This is the widest colour range in the collection, which matters on a bridal-scale earring: these are the pieces most often bought to match a specific outfit. Red, Green and Pink are the traditional festive choices. Grey, Black and Blue read as more contemporary. Mint, Peach and Baby Pink are the pastel options for daytime functions and mehendi.
Treat these as the main jewellery. Hair fully back, neck bare or wearing only a very simple chain, and no maang tikka — the lotus top already occupies that visual space. They suit lehengas, heavy silk sarees and anarkalis, and they need an outfit with enough presence to carry them.
Weddings, receptions, sangeets and bridal wear. Not an everyday earring and not intended to be.
These are large. The crescent is open-backed and the pearls are light, which keeps the weight more reasonable than the size suggests, but for a long function you will be aware of them. Worth noting if you are not used to earrings of this scale.
Meenakari enamel is harder than it looks but chips on impact, so store the pair in a pouch rather than loose in a box with metal jewellery. Put them on after perfume, hairspray and foundation, wipe with a dry soft cloth after wearing, and use a dry soft brush around the stone settings. Never use toothpaste, bleach or an ultrasonic cleaner — all three attack enamel and loosen kundan settings.
