A hook, a long straight bar, and a small smooth dome at the end. That is the entire design, and it is the most minimal piece in our silver range.

Almost all traditional Indian silver is decorative, which is wonderful but leaves a gap: there is very little that is simply a clean line. These fill that gap. The long bar gives real length while staying visually quiet, so you can wear something noticeable without wearing something ornate.
That makes them unusually easy to combine. Ornate earrings have to be the main event; a plain bar drop will sit happily alongside a patterned outfit, a statement necklace, or nothing at all.
The bar is long and the dome at the end is small, which is the right way round. A larger dome would make the earring bottom heavy and turn it into a lollipop shape. Kept small, the dome reads as a full stop at the end of a line — it finishes the drop without becoming the subject.
Oxidised antique silver with a soft matte surface. On a design this plain, the finish is everything, and a matte oxidised surface is far more forgiving than a mirror polish, which would show every mark.
A hook fitting, with the weight hanging from the curve. Very light, because the bar is thin and the dome is hollow. Nothing swings sideways, so they stay out of the way through a working day.
These work with practically everything: a plain shirt, a black dress, a cotton kurta, a printed saree. They are especially good if you find most silver jewellery too traditional for the office. Hair up or down both work, since the drop hangs straight rather than sitting against the ear.
Indian silver is overwhelmingly decorative. Nearly everything has a motif, a fringe, a stone or an engraved surface, which is part of what makes it beautiful and also what makes it difficult in some settings. A corporate office, a formal western outfit or a day when you simply want something quiet all call for jewellery that traditional silver rarely provides. A plain bar and a small dome fill that gap without abandoning the material. It is the pair to own if you like oxidised silver but need at least one option that will never be the most noticeable thing in the room.
Keep them in a zip lock pouch, put them on after perfume, wipe with a dry soft cloth and keep them away from water.
