A jhumka hung beneath a curving vine of small leaves, with pearls dropping from the rim of the bell and green stones set along the leafwork above it.
A vine is one of the few motifs that can run along a curve without the pattern looking stretched, which is why it turns up on the shoulders of necklaces and the tops of earrings far more often than a geometric repeat does. Here it arcs over the jhumka like a branch the bell is hanging from, and that single idea — something suspended from something growing — is what gives the earring its lightness.
The leaves are worked in relief rather than cut out flat, so each one catches light on its upper face and holds shadow underneath. At arm's length that reads as texture; close up it resolves into individual leaves with stones set between them.
Green and gold is the oldest colour pairing in Indian jewellery and the one the eye reads fastest as emerald, which is exactly the association the design is reaching for. The stones here are glass rather than emerald, and glass is genuinely the better choice at this price — it takes a deeper, more saturated green than an inexpensive laboratory stone can.
Hair back, and let the vine show. These sit beautifully with a plain silk blouse where the leafwork has an uncluttered background to read against; a heavily embroidered neckline will fight them.
There is a single colourway, Green. It is what the pair of earrings was drawn for, and what will arrive.
Use the enquiry button rather than a cart. Stock per colour is small and we confirm it with you before taking payment.
Stones are cubic zirconia and coloured glass. CZ is grown rather than mined and cut like a diamond; the glass is chosen for depth of colour. Neither is a precious stone and neither is described here as one.
The metal is brass with a gold-tone finish over it, not gold, and nothing on this page describes it as gold.
The photographs on this page are of the piece itself under ordinary light rather than a studio set-up, so what you see is close to what arrives. Screens do shift colour, golds especially, so if an exact shade matters to you, ask on the enquiry and we will describe it against something familiar.
These arrive in small runs. When a colour sells through it is usually gone rather than reordered, because the supplier moves on to the next design. That is why availability is confirmed by hand before an order is taken rather than promised by a stock counter.
The care is dull but it decides how long the colour lasts: dry hands, no perfume on the metal, a soft cloth afterwards and a sealed pouch between wearings. This is a prepaid order like every other on Keyura; no COD option exists.
