Two open hoops of the same size overlap at an angle and hang together from a single post. There are no stones, no texture and no ornament — just two circles of polished wire crossing each other.
A single hoop is flat and reads as one line. Two hoops set at an angle to each other create depth: one sits slightly in front of the other, they cross at two points, and as the earring turns the gap between them opens and closes. Perfume, hairspray, sweat, soap and chlorinated water all shorten its life; a dry cloth after wearing and a closed pouch between wearings extend it considerably. Treated sensibly, the colour holds for a long time.
Put these on after perfume, hairspray and foundation. Wipe with a dry soft cloth after wearing and use a dry soft brush around the stone settings and into any textured areas. Store them in a pouch rather than loose in a box, and never use toothpaste, bleach or an ultrasonic cleaner.
