A flower of five long petal stones sits at the lobe, and from beneath it a single twisted silver rope drops straight down to a small polished ball. Nothing else. The contrast between the decorated top and the bare chain is the entire design.
Available in 5 colours: White, Black, Green, Ruby and Blue. The colour refers to the petal stones in the flower; the chain and ball stay oxidised silver throughout. Black and White are the most graphic, Green and Ruby the most traditional, and Blue the easiest with western clothes.
Long earrings usually get busier as they descend — more stones, a bell, a fringe. Here the opposite happens. All the detail is concentrated at the lobe, and everything below is deliberately stripped back to a single line. That makes the earring read as modern despite using entirely traditional materials.
It also solves a practical problem. A long earring with a wide bottom swings into your neck and catches on collars. A narrow rope with a small ball at the end hangs straight and stays out of the way, so you get length without any of the usual nuisance.
The drop is a tightly twisted silver rope rather than a flat chain, so it holds a slight stiffness and hangs in a straight line instead of curling. The twist catches light in a continuous spiral down its length, which is what stops a plain chain from looking like an afterthought.
A small smooth ball finishes the drop, slightly weighted so the chain stays vertical. It is left completely plain — against a stone set flower above, any pattern here would have divided the attention.
Post fitting at the lobe. They are light, and because the drop is narrow they do not swing outward. Comfortable enough for a full working day.
These sit well with both ethnic and western clothing, which is unusual for oxidised silver. A plain kurta, a cotton saree, a shirt or a plain dress all work. Because the drop is narrow and vertical, they also suit high necklines and collars, where a wider earring would crowd. Hair up or down both work.
There is a design principle at work here that is worth recognising, because it appears across good jewellery of every tradition: concentrate the detail where it will be seen, and leave the rest alone. The lobe is at eye level in conversation and is the part a photograph catches in focus. A drop that hangs below the jaw is seen in silhouette more than in detail, so ornamenting it heavily adds weight and cost for very little visual return. Putting a stone set flower at the top and a bare chain beneath gets the best of both: the decoration lands where it registers, and the length costs almost nothing in weight.
Keep them in a zip lock pouch so the chains do not tangle with other jewellery. Put them on after perfume, wipe with a dry soft cloth and keep them away from water.
