A broad crescent finished in deep green enamel, hand painted across its surface with white and pink blossoms on fine trailing stems, bordered with clear kundan stones and topped by a matching enamelled panel. Around the lower curve hangs a dense fringe of white pearls and green bead drops.
Available in 10 colours: Green, Sky Blue, Pink, Peach, Baby Pink, Black, Yellow, Blue, Red and Grey. The colour refers to the enamel ground and the bead drops.
Painted enamel gives you something stones cannot: an actual picture. The blossoms here are individually painted with shaded petals and fine stems, so the crescent reads as a small piece of botanical art rather than a decorated surface. Because the brushwork is done by hand, no two pairs are quite identical.
Deep green is also an unusual and flattering ground. It is rich enough to read as formal, but cooler than the traditional red, and white blossoms show against it with much more contrast than they would on a pale colour.
The enamel is fired into the metal first, then painted, then the clear kundan stones are seated around the border. That order matters — stones set before firing would not survive the kiln — and it is why enamel-and-kundan work sits at a higher price than plain stone setting.
White pearls form a dense band immediately under the crescent, with faceted green drops hanging beyond them. Two materials at two depths gives the lower edge far more texture than a single row would.
Post fitting. These are full bridal scale, so they suit an evening function. The crescent is thin metal with enamel rather than solid, which keeps the weight reasonable.
Green and gold against cream, ivory, mustard or deep red. They also look striking with a plain black outfit, where the painted panel becomes the only ornament. Hair up, short necklace or none.
Hand painted enamel is more delicate than a plain fired colour, because the painted layer sits on top of the base coat. It will not fade or wash off, but a hard knock can take a chip out of it, and abrasive cleaning will dull the brushwork. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only, never a polishing cloth meant for metal, and store the pair on its own.
Store them in their own pouch so the enamel is not chipped. Put them on after perfume and hairspray, and keep them away from water.
