This is a bold, architectural kada: instead of one solid band, three engraved gold-tone bands are joined by upright bars to form an open cage around the wrist. Jewelled motifs sit across the bands, so the piece looks like a small treasure box on the arm. This listing shows the version with a red cabochon and green stone; it also comes in Sea Green, Black and Green.
Each band is engraved with a leafy pattern and set with small clear paachi stones at intervals. On the middle band sits a large paisley outlined in tiny pearls, filled with red and green stones, and beside it a four-petal flower with a green centre stone. A round red cabochon in a golden collar decorates the lower band, and little clusters of golden ghungroo bells hang from the joints. The open spaces between the bands keep the kada lighter than it looks and let the skin show through.
This kada is a statement on its own, so wear it alone on one wrist with a silk saree, a lehenga or a festive kurta set. It pairs naturally with kundan or paachi earrings in the same colour. For a bridal or wedding-guest look, add thin gold bangles on the other wrist.
The kada is wide and covers a good part of the forearm, which is what gives it its impact. It is made to be adjustable for a comfortable fit on most wrists. If you need a particular size, ask us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will confirm.
This is brass with a gold-tone plating rather than solid gold, which keeps the price where it is and the weight low enough to wear comfortably. Plating is a surface rather than a bulk property, so how long it lasts depends almost entirely on what it meets — perfume, hairspray and sweat all shorten it, while a dry cloth after wearing and a closed pouch between wearings extend it considerably.
Put this on after perfume, hairspray and hand cream, and take it off before washing, swimming or sleeping. Wipe with a dry soft cloth and use a dry soft brush around the stone settings and between any pearls, where a cloth cannot reach. Store it in a zip-lock pouch — which is what the supplier themselves advise, and the single most effective thing for a plated piece, because it keeps humid air off the metal. Never use silver polish, dip cleaners or an ultrasonic cleaner.
