A neat, elegant kada with a jewelled medallion at the front. Rows of silver beads run between gold-tone rope borders, and a round filigree medallion with a coloured stone sits where the kada opens. This listing shows the green stone version; it also comes with Ruby and Black stones.
The band is lined along both edges with twisted gold-tone rope. Between them run rows of small silver beads and granulated dots, arranged in a repeating pattern that looks like woven metal. At the front, a round gold-tone medallion is pierced with heart-shaped filigree openings around a smooth green Monalisa cabochon. Next to it, a textured silver screw cap opens the kada.
The medallion gives this kada a jewellery-box quality, like a small brooch set into the band. Because the pattern on either side is repetitive and calm, the stone and filigree at the front stand out clearly, making the piece look polished and considered.
This kada works with sarees, lehengas and festive kurtas, and the green stone pairs beautifully with green, gold, ivory and maroon outfits. Wear it alone or with slim gold bangles for a fuller look.

Dual-tone means two platings on one piece — a bright silver tone and a warm gold tone, applied to different parts of the same design so each section reads separately. It is harder than a single finish because the two have to be masked off from one another, and it is why these pieces show their detail so clearly: the eye separates the gold elements from the silver ones before it has read a single stone. The base metal underneath is brass, so this is plating rather than solid gold or silver.
Put this on after perfume, hairspray and hand cream, and take it off before washing, swimming or sleeping. Wipe with a dry soft cloth and use a dry soft brush around the stone settings and between any pearls, where a cloth cannot reach. Store it in a zip-lock pouch — which is what the supplier themselves advise, and the single most effective thing for a plated piece, because it keeps humid air off the metal. Never use silver polish, dip cleaners or an ultrasonic cleaner.
