Two small fleur-de-lis forms sit one above the other on a fine straight pin that rises along the ear. There are no stones anywhere — the motifs are modelled in gold alone.
The fleur-de-lis is a European heraldic device, not an Indian one, and that is precisely why it looks interesting here. Its three-lobed form has the same vertical symmetry as a lotus bud but a sharper, more angular outline, so it reads as familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. On a climbing pin, where the motifs are seen in profile against the ear, that crisp silhouette matters more than detail would.
Each fleur is modelled in relief with a defined central petal and two curved side lobes, and the two are set at slightly different angles on the pin so they do not read as a stamped repetition. The pin itself is fine, straight and rigid with a rounded tip. The surface is finished with fine detailing that catches light along the raised edges of each lobe.
The pin passes through your existing lobe piercing and then rises at an angle along the ear, so a single piercing produces the look of a climber. There is no cuff, no clip and no second fitting. Slide it through gently and let the upper end rest against the ear — the angle it settles at is what holds it. Nothing hangs below the lobe, so it cannot swing, tangle in hair or catch on a collar.
Hair up or tucked behind the ear so the climb is visible — this is the one requirement. The motif is European in origin and works well with western clothing, while the gold tone keeps it comfortable with a kurta. Wear as a pair so the two ears mirror each other.
Daily wear, office, college and casual outings.
Very light, with nothing hanging. Because the weight sits along the pin rather than below the lobe, there is no drag on the piercing at all.
This piece is brass finished with a gold-tone plating rather than solid gold, which is what keeps the price where it is and the weight low enough for comfortable wear. Plating is a surface rather than a bulk property, so how long it lasts depends almost entirely on what it is exposed to. Perfume, hairspray, sweat, soap and chlorinated water all shorten its life; a dry cloth after wearing and a closed pouch between wearings extend it considerably.
Put these on after perfume, hairspray and foundation. Wipe with a dry soft cloth after wearing and use a dry soft brush over the textured motifs. Store them flat in a pouch so the pins stay straight, and never use toothpaste, bleach or an ultrasonic cleaner.
