A small decorated stud, a compact bell enamelled across its face with stone accents set into it, and a close fringe of small pearls around the rim. Available in Blue, Black, Red, Baby Pink, Green Yellow, Baby Pink Mint, Green, Mint, Black White and Multi.
This has the widest colour range of anything in the collection, and it includes options most designs do not offer: two two-tone combinations, and a Multi version that carries several colours across the panels of the same bell. The Multi option is worth particular attention — it goes with almost any outfit precisely because it contains a little of everything, which is a genuinely useful property in festive jewellery where matching is otherwise a constant problem.
The bell is divided into panels by raised gold ribs, with enamel filling each panel and small stones set at the junctions where the ribs meet. That division is what lets a multi-coloured version work at all — without the gold separators the colours would run together visually. The pearl fringe is close-set around the full rim on short links, so it moves as a band rather than as separate drops. The stud above is small and decorated, keeping the bell hanging clear of the lobe.
Compact enough to wear with loose hair and light enough for a full day, which makes these far more useful than full-size jhumkas. They suit cotton, silk and handloom, and the Multi colourway in particular removes the need to match. Keep the necklace simple.
Festivals, pujas, Navratri, Diwali, daytime functions and everyday festive wear.
Light. The bell is hollow, the pearls are small, and the whole earring is short enough not to drag on the lobe or tangle in hair.
This piece is brass finished with a gold-tone plating rather than solid gold, which is what keeps the price where it is and the weight low enough for comfortable wear. Plating is a surface rather than a bulk property, so how long it lasts depends almost entirely on what it is exposed to. Perfume, hairspray, sweat, soap and chlorinated water all shorten its life; a dry cloth after wearing and a closed pouch between wearings extend it considerably. Treated sensibly, the colour holds for a long time.
Put these on after perfume, hairspray and foundation. Wipe with a dry soft cloth after wearing and use a dry soft brush around the stone settings and through any fringe. Store them in a pouch rather than loose in a box, and never use toothpaste, bleach or an ultrasonic cleaner.
