A single length of wire bends into a long narrow oval — essentially a paperclip shape — and one small stone is set inside the outline near the top. There is nothing else. Available in Mint, White, Green, Black, Blue, Baby Pink and Red.
This is the most reduced design in the collection. An outline and a dot. What makes it work rather than merely empty is the proportion: the oval is noticeably longer than it is wide, which gives it direction, and the stone sits near the top rather than at the centre, which stops the whole thing from looking like a diagram. Minimal jewellery lives or dies on exactly those two decisions.
The wire is round in section and polished smooth, bent in a single continuous loop with the join hidden at the top where the post attaches. The stone is a small round cabochon in a plain bezel, fixed to the inner edge of the oval rather than floating across it. The oval hangs free from the post so it swings gently as a flat plane. Nothing is textured and nothing is ornamented.
With a design this bare the stone is the only decision. Black and White are the most graphic. Green and Red are the warmest. Mint, Blue and Baby Pink are the softest. All of them read clearly because there is nothing else competing.
Modern dressing — shirts, plain dresses, linen, co-ord sets, a solid kurta. These are the earrings you wear when you want something rather than nothing, and they are small enough to wear every day without thinking about it. They also stack well with a second piercing.
Casual wear, office, college, travel and everyday use.
Among the lightest drops in the range. A single wire and one small stone weigh almost nothing, and the flat profile means nothing projects or catches.
This piece is brass finished with a gold-tone plating rather than solid gold, which is what keeps the price where it is and the weight low enough for comfortable wear. Plating is a surface rather than a bulk property, so how long it lasts depends almost entirely on what it is exposed to. Perfume, hairspray, sweat, soap and chlorinated water all shorten its life; a dry cloth after wearing and a closed pouch between wearings extend it considerably. Treated sensibly, the colour holds for a long time.
Put these on after perfume, hairspray and foundation. Wipe with a dry soft cloth after wearing and use a dry soft brush around the stone settings. Store them in a pouch rather than loose in a box, and never use toothpaste, bleach or an ultrasonic cleaner.
