A tall openwork silver frame, curling outward in scrolls, set with clear oval stones along its length and small coloured accents at the top. Below it hangs a matching jhumka, also stone set, edged with a fine silver bead fringe.
Available in 8 colours: Baby Pink, Sky Blue, Yellow, Green, Sea Green, Red, Purple and Lavender. The colour refers to the small accent stones; the larger stones through the body stay clear.
The frame is almost entirely open — scrolls and curls of silver with gaps between them — so despite standing tall on the ear the earring never looks solid or heavy. You see as much skin through it as metal, which keeps a fairly elaborate design feeling light.
Setting clear stones into oxidised silver is a deliberately high contrast choice. Against dark antique metal, clear stones read much brighter than they would in gold, so a modest stone looks considerably more brilliant.
Rather than finishing with a plain fringe, the design hangs a small stone set bell below the frame, repeating the same clear stones. That carries the decoration all the way down instead of letting the earring taper into nothing.
Post fitting, openwork throughout, so light for their size. They hang close rather than swinging outward.
Cotton, handloom and simple silks in solid colours. The clear stones make these easier to coordinate than a strongly coloured pair — pick the accent shade to echo your outfit. Tie your hair back so the full height of the frame shows, and keep the necklace short or skip it.
How heavy jewellery looks matters as much as how heavy it is. A solid silver panel of this size would read as substantial and slightly severe even if it were hollow, because the eye judges mass by surface area. Cutting the frame into scrolls with gaps between them changes that reading entirely: skin and hair show through the design, so a tall earring appears airy. It is the same principle that makes latticed stone screens feel light in heavy architecture, and it is why the best silver work is almost always pierced rather than solid.
Oxidised silver is usually bought plain, which makes it easy to wear but can leave a collection looking uniform. Putting clear stones through the frame and reserving colour for a few small accents is a middle path: the piece still reads as silver jewellery and still goes with everything, but it has a point of warmth that a wholly plain pair lacks. With eight accent colours in this design you can pick the one missing from your wardrobe rather than repeating a shade you already own, which is the most useful way to add to a collection.
Keep them in a zip lock pouch so the stones are not scratched. Put them on after perfume and hairspray, wipe with a dry soft cloth, and keep them away from water.
