These blue and white kundan long earrings are layered from top to bottom. White kundan stones run down the centre in framed rows, blue marquise stones fan out on either side, and gold-tone peacock and paisley motifs fill the spaces between, with a ridged silver jhumka hanging at the end.
The design is built in three tiers. The top is a broad cluster of white kundan around a central blue stone; the middle widens into paisley shapes with blue marquise stones and gold peacocks facing outward; the lower tier narrows again into a flower before the jhumka.
The jhumka itself is silver tone with deep vertical ridges and a fringe of pearl-like beads, hanging free so it swings independently of the tiers above. Every tier carries both metal tones, which is what holds the whole piece together visually despite its length.
This is a bridal-scale earring, so give it room: a heavy lehenga, a Banarasi saree or an embroidered anarkali, with hair in a bun and a light necklace or none at all.
Blue and white kundan is a cooler alternative to the usual red and green, and it sits beautifully against ivory, powder blue, silver-grey and deep navy outfits.
This is a heavy, ceremonial earring. The tiers are linked so they move together and settle naturally, rather than pulling in one rigid line, but for a full day of functions earring supports or a light ear chain will make a real difference to comfort.
Put these on after make-up and hair spray, and take them off before removing your outfit so the tiers do not catch on fabric. Wipe them with a soft dry cloth, and store them flat in a box so the jhumkas hang free and the tiers are not bent.
Blue bridal kundan is made in far smaller runs than red, because red remains the default choice for Indian weddings. That makes a piece like this harder to restock, and it rarely returns in exactly the same shade of blue.
