Three sections, stacked. A teardrop stone at the lobe framed by small red accents, then a broad panel of scrolling silver filigree that widens across the middle of the earring, then a compact pierced jhumka finished with pearls.
Available in 7 colours: Sea Green Baby Pink, Baby Pink Sea Green, Red Green, Yellow, Peach, Black and Green. The colour refers to the teardrop stone and the small accent stones around it.
The filigree panel in the middle is what gives these their character. It is the widest part of the earring and it is entirely metalwork — no stones at all — so it acts as a substantial pause between the coloured stone above and the busy fringe below. Most designs would have filled that space with more stones; leaving it as pure silver scrollwork is a more confident decision.
The panel also broadens the earring at exactly the right height, sitting level with the jaw, which is the most flattering place for width in a drop earring.
Built from curled wire and pierced plate, with scrolls spiralling symmetrically outward from a central axis. Oxidising darkens the recesses so the curls stay individually legible rather than merging into a grey mass, which is the usual failure of filigree at this scale.
Small, pierced with a lattice, and edged with a dense fringe of white pearls. Kept modest so the panel above stays the focus.
Post fitting. Filigree is light by nature because so much of it is air rather than metal, so despite their size these are comfortable for an extended function.
They suit cotton, handloom and simple silks. The warmer stone options — Amber, Peach, Yellow — sit beautifully against mustard, rust and cream, while Black and Green are sharper against white or indigo. Hair back, necklace short or absent.
Filigree is among the most labour intensive techniques in silver work, and also among the easiest to imitate badly. Genuine filigree is built from drawn wire curled and soldered into position, with open space between every curl; the imitation is a solid plate stamped with a pattern that looks similar in a photograph but has no openings at all. The test is simple: hold it to the light and see whether light passes through. Real filigree is lighter, casts a pattern of shadow on the skin behind it, and keeps its definition because each curl has its own edge.
Store them in a zip lock pouch so the pearl fringe does not tangle and the fine filigree is not bent. Put them on after perfume and hairspray, wipe with a dry soft cloth, and keep them away from water.
