A wide openwork bangle made of looping scallops, with a single raised flower at the centre holding one small clear stone.
The scallop is what gives this its softness. A row of repeating loops has no corners anywhere, so a wide band reads as gentle rather than heavy — the same device that softens the rim of an old silver plate or the border of an enamelled box.
Putting one flower at the centre is a deliberate anchor. Without it the eye slides around a repeating pattern and finds nowhere to rest; with it, the bangle has a front, which also means it has a right way to be worn.
The single clear stone at the flower's heart is cubic zirconia. One stone, used as a full stop rather than as the subject, is a more confident choice at this price than scattering a dozen across the band.
Anti-tarnish is a coating, not a metal. The body underneath is brass, and brass left bare reacts with the moisture and sulphur in ordinary air until the surface dulls and your skin marks green. An anti-tarnish piece carries a clear barrier layer over the plating that keeps air off the metal, so the colour holds for far longer than it would on an uncoated piece. It is a real improvement and it is also finite: the coating wears where the piece rubs, and once it is through, the brass behaves like brass again.
Underneath everything this is brass, which is why it has some heft in the hand. That weight is a good sign at this price point — hollow, feather-light costume jewellery is usually thin plate over something that will bend out of shape.
Put it on after perfume, lotion and hair spray, never before — alcohol and oils are what lift a coating fastest. Take it off before washing up, swimming or sleeping. Wipe it with a dry, soft cloth after wearing and keep it in a closed pouch rather than loose in a drawer, where humid air and other metal can scuff it.
If you are buying it for someone else, the fit is the easy part — this is a standard adult wrist size and it opens rather than needing to be pushed over the hand.
What you see photographed is what ships. Colour on a screen is never exact — golds in particular look warmer on some phones than others — so treat the photo as close rather than perfect.
If you are building a set, the pieces in this range share the same gold tone and the same finish, so two bought separately will match on the wrist. That is not something you can count on across different brands, where one plating can be visibly cooler than another.
