A broad kada set with paachi stones, which are foiled and set into raised metal collars. Adjustable fit.
A single broad kada rather than a pair, set with paachi stones in red, green and white held in raised metal collars. The settings stand proud of the surface, which is what gives paachi work its depth.
In paachi work the metal is raised around each stone and the stone is foil-backed. The result is more depth than a flat kundan bed gives, and more sparkle under a hall light.
It is a broad band, which is the point of a kada: it holds the wrist rather than hanging on it. The paachi stones are foil-backed, which is why they look lit from behind rather than merely reflective.
It is adjustable rather than sized, so it does not depend on getting a bangle measurement right first time. It is sold as a single piece, meant to be worn alone on the wrist rather than as a pair.
Being adjustable and sold singly makes this the easiest piece here to buy without measuring. It is also the one most obviously meant to be worn alone, on a bare wrist, as the only thing on that arm.
Two on one arm and nothing on the other is the easiest way to wear a broad band without it looking accidental. Worn on its own it is enough; worn against plain glass bangles it becomes the piece people look at.
It belongs to the wedding end of the catalogue - sangeet, mehendi, the reception - where the rest of the outfit is already working hard and the jewellery is expected to keep up rather than stay quiet.
Because this one is adjustable rather than sized, the measurement problem does not arise. It opens enough to pass the hand and then closes down to the wrist, which also makes it a safer choice as a gift.
One thing stated plainly, because it should be: this is plated jewellery on a base metal, not gold or silver. It is priced accordingly and we do not describe it as anything else. What you are buying is the design and the finish, and both will last if the piece is kept dry and stored sealed.
Jewellery on, last. Jewellery off, first. That one habit does more for a plated finish than any polish: it keeps the metal away from perfume, hairspray and hand wash, which are what actually strip it. Store it dry in a sealed pouch with the air pressed out.
