These pearl and green stone bangles come as a set of two and are made by weaving rather than setting. Small white pearls and faceted green stones are laced together on gold wire in a criss-cross lattice, so the beads themselves form the body of the bangle instead of sitting on a metal band. The green runs down the centre with pearls on either side, and the gold wire shows between them as a fine zigzag.
Look closely and the construction is clear: each green stone is held between four pearls, and the wire crosses over itself between every bead, which is what locks the lattice together and gives the bangle its slight flexibility. The green stones are faceted rather than smooth, so they throw off small points of light against the soft matte surface of the pearls, and that contrast between sparkle and glow is really the whole design. Because the beads are strung rather than set, the bangle has no flat face; it is rounded all the way around and sits comfortably without a hard edge against the wrist.
Green and white on gold is a classic festive pairing and sits particularly well against a green, ivory or gold outfit, though it also lifts a plain cotton saree in almost any shade. Wear the two together so the lattice reads as a continuous band, and keep other bangles off that wrist; the woven texture is easily lost beside a wide metal bangle. Small gold earrings finish it better than a heavy set.
Festivals and daytime functions, mehendi and haldi ceremonies, pujas, family gatherings, and gifting to someone who likes bead work rather than heavy stonework.
This design is made in sizes 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8. Indian bangle sizes count upward, so a 2.4 is a smaller fit than a 2.6 and a 2.8 is larger again, with 2.6 the size most women take. These slip on over the hand rather than opening on a hinge or a screw, so choosing correctly matters more here than it would on an adjustable bangle.
The reliable way to find your size is to take a bangle that already fits you, measure straight across the inside from edge to edge, and match that against a bangle size chart. If you do not own one, bring your thumb across to the base of your little finger as though you were slipping a bangle on, wrap a strip of paper snugly around the widest part of that shape, mark where it overlaps and measure it flat. If you fall between two sizes take the larger one: a bangle that will not pass the hand cannot be worn at all, while a slightly loose one still sits well. Send us your measurement on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size before the order is taken.
Woven bead bangles have one weakness: the wire. Never pull or stretch the bangle to get it over the hand, because forcing a woven lattice is what breaks the wire and releases the beads. Keep it away from water and perfume, which dull pearls permanently, and store the pair flat in a soft pouch rather than hanging.
