This oxidised kada is sold as a single piece and is the simplest design in the range. Two round deep blue cabochons sit facing each other across the opening at the front, each held in a rope twist bezel, and the rest is a fine plain silver shank. There is no flower, no figure and no row of stones, which makes it the easiest piece here to wear without thinking about it.
The two stones are domed cabochons rather than faceted, polished smooth so they read as deep pools of colour rather than sparkle, and the blue is dark enough to look almost black until light passes through it. Each sits in a bezel edged with twisted silver rope, and behind each bezel the shank is wrapped in a tight coil of fine wire, so the decoration steps down gradually into the plain band rather than stopping abruptly. Because the stones sit at the open ends and face one another, they frame the gap instead of hiding it, which is an unusual way to finish an adjustable kada and rather better looking than a plain tapered tip.
Deep blue and oxidised silver is a quiet combination that works with almost everything, which is the point of a piece like this. Wear it with denim, linen, cotton or a plain kurta. It is slim enough to stack with other thin silver bangles, and because the stones sit at the opening rather than on top, it still looks considered when the kada rotates on the wrist during the day.
Everyday and office wear, college, travel, casual outings, and gifting to someone who wants a first piece of oxidised silver without committing to something ornate.
This design is adjustable rather than fixed: it opens on a screw so the same piece fits a range of wrists, which is why no size needs to be chosen at checkout. Open it only as far as the hand needs and close it gently, because repeatedly forcing an adjustable bangle wider is what eventually weakens the joint.
If you are unsure whether it will suit a particularly slim or broad wrist, ask us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will check the opening range for you.
Open the kada only as far as your hand needs: the shank is fine and a thin wire fatigues faster than a broad band if it is sprung wide repeatedly. Wipe it with a dry soft cloth, going around the cabochons rather than across them, and keep it away from water, perfume and sanitiser. Never use metal polish on the oxidised finish.
