This oxidised bangle is sold as a single piece and is the only square one in the range. Instead of the usual circle it is formed as a rounded square, which sits quite differently on the wrist and makes an ordinary stack look considered. Small enamel flowers in pastel pink, green, blue and yellow are scattered across the broad corners, and the whole outline is framed in dense silver granulation.
The square profile is the point. Each of the four sides is flat and widens towards the corners, where the decoration concentrates, while the straight runs between them are left narrow. That shaping means the bangle does not roll on the wrist the way a round one does; it settles with a corner uppermost and stays there. The flowers are tiny, five petals of enamel around a contrasting centre, and the pastel palette of blush, mint, sky and butter yellow is unusual in oxidised work, which normally runs to strong red and green. Around every edge, silver granules are applied in a continuous bead, and the oxidised finish darkens between them so the texture reads clearly.
A square bangle is worth showing off, so wear it on a bare wrist or beside plain round silver bangles where the difference in shape reads. The pastel enamel keeps it light enough for daytime, which most oxidised jewellery is not, and it sits well with cream, grey, white and soft colours as well as the usual indigo and black. Keep earrings small and silver.
Festivals and daytime functions, craft fairs and exhibitions, handloom dressing, casual wear, and gifting to someone who already owns plenty of round bangles.
This design is made in sizes 2.4 and 2.8. Indian bangle sizes count upward, so a 2.4 is a smaller fit than a 2.6 and a 2.8 is larger again, with 2.6 the size most women take. These slip on over the hand rather than opening on a hinge or a screw, so choosing correctly matters more here than it would on an adjustable bangle.
The reliable way to find your size is to take a bangle that already fits you, measure straight across the inside from edge to edge, and match that against a bangle size chart. If you do not own one, bring your thumb across to the base of your little finger as though you were slipping a bangle on, wrap a strip of paper snugly around the widest part of that shape, mark where it overlaps and measure it flat. If you fall between two sizes take the larger one: a bangle that will not pass the hand cannot be worn at all, while a slightly loose one still sits well. Send us your measurement on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size before the order is taken.
Enamel chips on impact and the corners of a square bangle take knocks that a round one would glance off, so be a little more careful with this shape. Clean with a dry soft brush, which reaches between the granules where a cloth cannot, and never use metal polish, which strips the oxidised darkening. Keep it dry and store it alone in a pouch.
