This oxidised kada is sold as a single piece and is the boldest of the silver styles here. Large teardrop stones run the whole way around the band, alternating deep red and clear, each one set in a plain silver bezel with the points facing outward. Unlike the flower kadas, where one motif sits at the front, here the decoration is continuous, so the piece looks the same from every angle on the wrist.
The stones are the piece. Each teardrop is broad and faceted, sitting high in a smooth bezel with no beading or granulation to distract from it, and the bezels touch one another so there is almost no bare metal between them. Alternating red with clear is what makes the band read rhythmically rather than as a solid block of colour: the clear stones pick up whatever is around them and the red stays constant, so the balance shifts depending on what you wear. The oxidised silver of the bezels is left deliberately plain and slightly darkened, which stops the metal competing with the stones. The band opens at the back with a decorated cap at each end.
This is a statement piece for a bare wrist. Do not stack it: the stones run right around the band and anything beside it will crowd them. It works with a plain black or white outfit, where the red reads strongly, and with traditional red or maroon where it ties in instead. Because the setting is oxidised rather than gold, it suits cotton and handloom better than silk.
Parties and evenings out, festive occasions, exhibitions and craft fairs, and gifting to someone who likes bold silver rather than delicate jewellery.
This design is adjustable rather than fixed: it opens on a screw so the same piece fits a range of wrists, which is why no size needs to be chosen at checkout. Open it only as far as the hand needs and close it gently, because repeatedly forcing an adjustable bangle wider is what eventually weakens the joint.
If you are unsure whether it will suit a particularly slim or broad wrist, ask us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will check the opening range for you.
Large stones set high in smooth bezels are the most exposed kind, so take the kada off before anything that risks a knock. Open it only as far as your hand needs. Keep it away from water, perfume and sanitiser, and wipe it with a dry soft cloth, going around the stones rather than pressing across them.
