This oxidised kada is sold as a single piece, not a pair, and it is worn on its own the way a cuff is. A flower of round pink stones circles a square stone at the centre, set on a plain silver-tone wire that opens at the back so it slips onto the wrist and closes again. The oxidised finish gives it the darkened, slightly aged look of tribal silver rather than the brightness of the gold kadas in this range.
The flower head is the whole design and it is built in layers: eight round pink stones ring a square stone set on the diagonal, each in its own raised collar, with a bed of fine silver granulation filling the gaps between them so no flat metal shows. Around the outside runs a beaded rim. On either side of the head, the wire thickens into a short section wrapped in rope twist and capped with a small dome, which is what stops the plain shank looking unfinished. The oxidised finish sits dark in the recesses of the granulation and stays brighter on the raised beading, which is what makes the texture read at arm's length.
Oxidised silver belongs with cotton, khadi, linen and handloom rather than with silk. Wear this on its own on a bare wrist, where the flower head sits on top and the open back stays hidden, or stack it with one or two plain silver bangles. It suits a plain kurta, a cotton saree or western clothes equally, which makes it far more of an everyday piece than the gold kadas here.
Everyday wear, office, college, handloom and craft-fair dressing, casual outings, and gifting to someone who wears oxidised silver rather than gold.
This design is adjustable rather than fixed: it opens on a screw so the same piece fits a range of wrists, which is why no size needs to be chosen at checkout. Open it only as far as the hand needs and close it gently, because repeatedly forcing an adjustable bangle wider is what eventually weakens the joint.
If you are unsure whether it will suit a particularly slim or broad wrist, ask us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will check the opening range for you.
An open kada is adjusted by gentle pressure, never by forcing it wide: repeatedly springing the shank open is what eventually cracks the finish or weakens the metal. Keep it away from water, perfume and sanitiser, wipe it with a dry soft cloth, and use a dry brush in the granulation where dust settles.
