This oxidised kada is sold as a single piece and is the most minimal design in the range. One olive green rectangular stone sits in a stepped square frame at the front, and everything else is a fine plain silver shank. There is no flower, no row of stones and no figure. For anyone who finds traditional kadas too busy, this is the one that will actually get worn.
The stone is rectangular and flat-topped, a warm olive green that shifts towards yellow in bright light, set flush inside a square frame built up in two steps so the edge catches a line of shadow. That stepped frame is the only ornament on the whole piece, and it does the work that a cluster of stones would do elsewhere. Behind it, the shank is wrapped in coils of fine wire on both sides, with a small domed cap at one open end. The band itself is round, thin and entirely plain, deliberately so: the point of the design is the contrast between one precise geometric detail and a bare curve of silver.
Minimal jewellery is the easiest kind to wear and the hardest to get wrong. This suits linen, cotton, denim and plain kurtas, and it works as well with western clothing as Indian. Olive is an unusual colour in Indian jewellery and sits particularly well with cream, rust, brown, mustard and indigo. Stack it with plain silver bangles or wear it alone; both look deliberate.
Everyday and office wear, college, travel, casual outings, and gifting to someone whose taste is minimal or who does not usually wear Indian jewellery.
This design is adjustable rather than fixed: it opens on a screw so the same piece fits a range of wrists, which is why no size needs to be chosen at checkout. Open it only as far as the hand needs and close it gently, because repeatedly forcing an adjustable bangle wider is what eventually weakens the joint.
If you are unsure whether it will suit a particularly slim or broad wrist, ask us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will check the opening range for you.
A flat-topped stone shows finger marks, so wipe it with a dry soft cloth after wearing. Open the kada only as far as your hand needs, since the shank is fine and thin wire fatigues if sprung wide repeatedly. Keep it away from water, perfume and sanitiser, and never use metal polish on the oxidised finish.
