Product Description

Product Overview

This oxidised cuff kada is sold as a single piece and carries no stones whatsoever. The entire band is filigree: rows of fine silver scrollwork running the length of the cuff, bordered top and bottom by a lattice edge, with a raised line of silver beads down the centre. It is the purest metalwork piece in this range, and the only one where the craft has nowhere to hide behind colour.

Design Details

Filigree is made from drawn silver wire twisted and coiled into shapes, then soldered into a frame, and the test of it is whether the curls are even and the joins invisible. Here the pattern runs in four parallel bands: a lattice border along each edge, then a row of tight spirals, and down the middle a line of solid silver beads that lifts the flat filigree into three dimensions. The cuff is broad and gently curved to follow the wrist, and it closes with a hinge and clasp rather than simply springing open, which is what allows it to be this wide and still go on comfortably. The oxidised finish pools darkly inside every curl, and it is that contrast that makes the pattern visible at all.

Product Highlights

  • Sold as a single cuff kada, not a pair
  • Worked entirely in filigree, with no stones
  • Raised beaded line down the centre
  • Hinge and clasp closure rather than a spring opening
  • One size, adjustable fit

Styling Suggestions

With no colour in it, this goes with everything, and its width means it reads as a statement without shouting. It is at its best against plain khadi, handloom cotton or linen in any colour, and with a sleeveless or short sleeve so the whole cuff is visible. Wear it alone; filigree beside a stone bangle simply looks like the poor relation. Oxidised studs or small jhumkas finish it.

Perfect For

Festivals, exhibitions and craft fairs, handloom and khadi dressing, performances, and gifting to someone who values silverwork over stones.

Product Details

  • Sold as one single cuff kada
  • Base metal: mixed metal with a silver-tone oxidised finish
  • Stones: none
  • Closure: hinge and clasp
  • Availability is confirmed on WhatsApp before your order is taken

Size and Fit

This design is adjustable rather than fixed: it opens on a screw so the same piece fits a range of wrists, which is why no size needs to be chosen at checkout. Open it only as far as the hand needs and close it gently, because repeatedly forcing an adjustable bangle wider is what eventually weakens the joint.

If you are unsure whether it will suit a particularly slim or broad wrist, ask us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will check the opening range for you.

Care Instructions

Filigree is fine wire and will deform if the cuff is squeezed, so open and close it at the hinge rather than pressing on the band. Clean with a dry soft brush, which reaches inside the curls where a cloth cannot, and never use metal polish, which strips the oxidised darkening that makes the pattern legible. Store it alone in a soft pouch.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. It is a single cuff kada, sold and priced as one piece.
None. It is entirely filigree metalwork, which is why the evenness of the curls and the invisibility of the joins is what the piece stands on.
Drawn silver wire twisted and coiled into patterns, then soldered into a frame. It is one of the oldest silversmithing techniques and is done by hand.
With a hinge and clasp rather than springing open. That is what allows a cuff this wide to go on comfortably.
One size. The hinged closure means it fits a range of wrists.
Please do not. Filigree is fine wire and deforms under pressure. Open and close it at the hinge only.
With almost anything, since there is no colour in it. It looks best against plain khadi, handloom cotton or linen.
Better not. Filigree beside a stone bangle tends to look like the poor relation; it shows best alone.
The base is mixed metal with a silver-tone finish. If plated jewellery usually irritates your skin, this is unlikely to suit you.
