This is a set of twelve thin oxidised bangles, not a pair, which makes it the largest set in this range and a very different proposition from a single wide kada. Each band is slim and engraved along its length, and twelve gives you six for each wrist or the whole lot on one. Stacked bangles are worn this way across most of India, and buying them as a matched set is the only practical way to get the sound and the density right.
Each bangle carries the same engraving, a running pattern of scrolls and fine hatching cut into the outer surface, and because the bands are narrow the pattern reads as texture rather than as a motif you can pick out. The oxidised finish darkens the cut lines and leaves the raised surface brighter, which is what makes a plain thin band look like anything at all. They are round in section rather than flat, so they roll slightly on the wrist as you move and knock together with the soft clinking that is really the point of wearing a stack. Being individually slim, twelve together still sit lighter than one heavy kada.
A stack is a look in itself and needs nothing else on the wrist. Wear all twelve split evenly, or load one arm and leave the other bare, which is the more contemporary way to do it. Oxidised silver belongs with cotton, khadi, linen and handloom, and a full stack is particularly good with a plain sleeveless kurta where the whole forearm is visible. Keep earrings small; a stack is already making the noise.
Festivals, Navratri and garba, handloom and craft-fair dressing, folk dance and performance, everyday wear for anyone who likes a full wrist, and gifting where you want to give something with presence for a modest price.
This design is made in sizes 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8. Indian bangle sizes count upward, so a 2.4 is a smaller fit than a 2.6 and a 2.8 is larger again, with 2.6 the size most women take. These slip on over the hand rather than opening on a hinge or a screw, so choosing correctly matters more here than it would on an adjustable bangle.
The reliable way to find your size is to take a bangle that already fits you, measure straight across the inside from edge to edge, and match that against a bangle size chart. If you do not own one, bring your thumb across to the base of your little finger as though you were slipping a bangle on, wrap a strip of paper snugly around the widest part of that shape, mark where it overlaps and measure it flat. If you fall between two sizes take the larger one: a bangle that will not pass the hand cannot be worn at all, while a slightly loose one still sits well. Send us your measurement on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size before the order is taken.
Thin bangles bend if forced, so never push a stack on together; put them on a few at a time. They will also scratch one another with wear, which is normal for stacked bangles and part of how they age. Keep them dry and away from perfume, wipe with a dry soft cloth, and store the set in one pouch rather than loose in a drawer.
