Kundan kadas in gold tone, with the stones bedded into the metal so the face reads as one surface. Sized 2.4 / 2.6 / 2.8 / 2.10.
Large oval kundan medallions anchor the face, each ringed with enamel, and smaller stones fill the ground between them. A row of tiny beads hangs from the lower edge, so there is a little movement whenever the arm moves.
The stones here are set the traditional way: flat-bedded, framed by burnished metal, with no claws across the face. It is a quieter setting than prong work and it wears better under a sleeve.
Large kundan medallions anchor the face, with the smaller work arranged around them. Small beads hang from the lower edge, so there is a little movement when the arm moves.
The rims carry a line of enamel, which frames the stone work instead of letting it run to the edge. It is a broad band, which is the point of a kada: it holds the wrist rather than hanging on it.
The drops are what separate this from a plain stone-set kada. They catch light at a different angle to the flat stones above them, which is why the piece keeps working under a moving light rather than going dead.
If the outfit is already heavily worked, one of these on a bare wrist reads better than a full stack. It carries a plain kurta as readily as it carries a lehenga, which is more than most wedding pieces manage.
This is wedding jewellery in the plain sense: made to be seen across a hall, under light that is brighter and warmer than daylight. Stone-set gold-tone work is designed for exactly that, which is why it can look heavier in a photograph taken indoors than it does on the arm.
Most people order a kada a quarter size too small, because they measure the wrist rather than the hand. The hand is what the bangle has to pass. Fold the thumb in, measure across the knuckles at the widest point, and use that number. If you are unsure, send us the measurement on WhatsApp before ordering and we will tell you which size to take. This piece is made in 2.4 / 2.6 / 2.8 / 2.10.
To be clear about what this is: a plated finish over brass or mixed metal. There is no hallmarked precious metal in it and the price reflects that. Treated well it holds its look for a long time; worn in the shower it will not.
Put it on after perfume, hairspray and lotion have dried, and take it off before washing your hands or sleeping. Wipe it with a dry cloth after wearing and return it to a sealed pouch. Plated finishes are taken down by moisture and by the alcohol in sprays more than by anything else.
