These kundan halo and petal bangles come as a set of two and work by alternating two quite different shapes. First a large cushion-cut kundan look stone, ringed by a halo of tiny clear stones; then a flower made of four marquise stones meeting at their points. The two repeat around the bangle, so the eye keeps moving between a big soft stone and a crisp little flower instead of settling into one rhythm.
The large stones are the anchors: each is broad, polished flat rather than faceted, and set into a raised gold collar with a dense ring of small round stones around it, which is what makes a single stone read as a substantial ornament. Between them sit the petal flowers, four long marquise stones arranged tip to tip with a gold bead at the centre, sitting flatter and sparkling harder than the kundan does. The contrast between the two textures, soft glow against bright cut, is the whole design. The gold between is worked with fine beading so no surface is left plain, and the bangle is of a generous width.
This is a bridal-weight pair, so let it lead. Wear both on one wrist with a silk or brocade outfit and keep the other wrist bare or with a single plain bangle. Because every stone is clear or pale, the pair will sit against red, maroon, green, ivory or gold without clashing. If you are wearing a heavy necklace and earrings, these are enough on the wrist by themselves.
Weddings and receptions, engagement and sangeet functions, Diwali, and gifting to a bride or for a significant anniversary.
This design is made in sizes 2.4 and 2.8. Indian bangle sizes count upward, so a 2.4 is a smaller fit than a 2.6 and a 2.8 is larger again, with 2.6 the size most women take. These slip on over the hand rather than opening on a hinge or a screw, so choosing correctly matters more here than it would on an adjustable bangle.
The reliable way to find your size is to take a bangle that already fits you, measure straight across the inside from edge to edge, and match that against a bangle size chart. If you do not own one, bring your thumb across to the base of your little finger as though you were slipping a bangle on, wrap a strip of paper snugly around the widest part of that shape, mark where it overlaps and measure it flat. If you fall between two sizes take the larger one: a bangle that will not pass the hand cannot be worn at all, while a slightly loose one still sits well. Send us your measurement on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size before the order is taken.
There are a great many small settings here, so use a dry soft brush rather than a cloth, which catches on the halo stones and the marquise points. Never soak the bangles: water sits behind flat-set kundan and clouds it. Keep them away from perfume and sanitiser and store the pair in a soft pouch.
