A pair of kadas that carry no stones at all, and rely on surface texture instead. Sized 2.4 / 2.6 / 2.8.
There is nothing set into these at all. The whole surface is granulation - tiny fused metal beads worked over a tapered crescent form - and the only ornament is the texture itself and the way the band narrows towards the opening.
With nothing set into it, everything rests on the metalwork. The granulated surface scatters light in small points rather than throwing one flat highlight, which is why a plain kada like this still reads as dressed rather than bare.
The surface is granulated - fused metal beads rather than engraving - which is slower to make and catches light in points. There are no stones in it at all, which makes it the piece to reach for when the rest of the look is already busy.
The band tapers towards the opening, so the weight sits on the top of the wrist rather than all round it. It has real heft for brass, and that weight is what keeps a broad kada sitting still instead of spinning.
A stone-free kada is the most useful thing in a jewellery box, because it is the one piece that will go with an outfit that is already carrying colour. It is also the one that does not date.
Two on one arm and nothing on the other is the easiest way to wear a broad band without it looking accidental. Worn on its own it is enough; worn against plain glass bangles it becomes the piece people look at.
It belongs to the wedding end of the catalogue - sangeet, mehendi, the reception - where the rest of the outfit is already working hard and the jewellery is expected to keep up rather than stay quiet.
Bangle sizing is the one thing worth getting right before ordering, because a band that will not pass the knuckle cannot be worn at all. Press your thumb into the base of your palm as though sliding a bangle on, measure the widest part of the hand across, and match that to the chart. Between two sizes, take the larger: a bangle that is slightly loose still sits on the forearm, while one that is slightly tight is simply shelf jewellery. This piece is made in 2.4 / 2.6 / 2.8.
One thing stated plainly, because it should be: this is plated jewellery on a base metal, not gold or silver. It is priced accordingly and we do not describe it as anything else. What you are buying is the design and the finish, and both will last if the piece is kept dry and stored sealed.
Jewellery on, last. Jewellery off, first. That one habit does more for a plated finish than any polish: it keeps the metal away from perfume, hairspray and hand wash, which are what actually strip it. Store it dry in a sealed pouch with the air pressed out.
