These gold plated pearl bangles come as a set of two and are the softest pair in this range. Rows of small round white pearls are strung the whole way around a fine gold frame, and at intervals the pearls give way to a little flower of pink and green stones. The pearls keep the bangle light and quiet against the wrist, while the stone flowers stop it becoming plain.
The construction is unusual for a bangle: rather than stones set into a solid band, the pearls are threaded along parallel gold rails, so the bangle has a slightly open, beaded texture and flexes minutely as you move. Two rails of pearls run side by side, and every few centimetres a raised gold setting breaks the run, holding a cluster of four or five small stones arranged as a flower. Those flowers alternate in colour along the length, some pink and some green, which is what gives the pair their gentle festive look without committing them to a single colour. The gold is bright rather than antiqued, which suits the whiteness of the pearls.
Pearl bangles suit daytime functions where heavy stonework would be too much. They are lovely with a pastel or ivory saree, a chikankari kurta or anything in a soft colour, and the pink and green flowers mean they pick up a pink or green outfit without needing to match it exactly. Wear the two together for a fuller look, or stack them with a plain gold bangle. Keep the rest of the jewellery small; pearls are easily overpowered.
Weddings and daytime functions, mehendi and haldi ceremonies, engagements, festive lunches, and gifting to someone who prefers pearls to stones.
This design is made in sizes 2.4 and 2.8. Indian bangle sizes count upward, so a 2.4 is a smaller fit than a 2.6 and a 2.8 is larger again, with 2.6 the size most women take. These slip on over the hand rather than opening on a hinge or a screw, so choosing correctly matters more here than it would on an adjustable bangle.
The reliable way to find your size is to take a bangle that already fits you, measure straight across the inside from edge to edge, and match that against a bangle size chart. If you do not own one, bring your thumb across to the base of your little finger as though you were slipping a bangle on, wrap a strip of paper snugly around the widest part of that shape, mark where it overlaps and measure it flat. If you fall between two sizes take the larger one: a bangle that will not pass the hand cannot be worn at all, while a slightly loose one still sits well. Send us your measurement on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size before the order is taken.
Pearls are the most delicate thing you can put on a bangle. Keep them away from perfume, hair spray, sanitiser and water entirely, since all of these dull the surface permanently and cannot be reversed. Put the bangles on last when dressing, wipe them with a dry soft cloth afterwards, and store them in a soft pouch where nothing can press against the pearl rows.
