These gold plated openwork AD bangles come as a set of two, built from an alternating run of two motifs: a pierced wheel with spokes radiating from a stone centre, and a diamond-shaped panel set with a cluster of clear stones. That alternation is what stops the band reading as a single repeated unit, and it gives the bangle a woven, almost lace-like look along its whole length.
Each wheel is genuinely cut through, so you can see fabric or skin behind it, and a single clear American diamond sits at the hub with smaller stones ringing the rim. Between the wheels sit the diamond panels, four stones arranged in a square around a fifth, and the two shapes lock into each other so the outline of the bangle undulates gently rather than running straight. The stones are individually set rather than channel-glued, which lets each one sit slightly proud and catch light on its own. A plain beaded gold rail runs along both edges, framing all the openwork and giving the bangle a clean finished line where it meets the wrist.
Openwork bangles sit well on their own because the pattern gives them enough interest not to need stacking. Wear the pair together on one wrist against a silk saree or a lehenga, where the cut-outs pick up the colour of the fabric underneath and change as you move. They also stack neatly with plain gold bangles if you want a fuller wrist. Because the stones are clear, they will not fight whatever colour you are wearing, which makes them one of the easier pieces to plan an outfit around.
Weddings and receptions, engagement and sangeet functions, Diwali and festive evenings, and gifting to a bride or for an anniversary.
This design is made in sizes 2.4, 2.8 and 2.10. Indian bangle sizes count upward, so a 2.4 is a smaller fit than a 2.6 and a 2.8 is larger again, with 2.6 the size most women take. These slip on over the hand rather than opening on a hinge or a screw, so choosing correctly matters more here than it would on an adjustable bangle.
The reliable way to find your size is to take a bangle that already fits you, measure straight across the inside from edge to edge, and match that against a bangle size chart. If you do not own one, bring your thumb across to the base of your little finger as though you were slipping a bangle on, wrap a strip of paper snugly around the widest part of that shape, mark where it overlaps and measure it flat. If you fall between two sizes take the larger one: a bangle that will not pass the hand cannot be worn at all, while a slightly loose one still sits well. Send us your measurement on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size before the order is taken.
Openwork traps dust behind the stones, so wipe the bangles with a dry soft cloth after wearing and use a dry soft brush through the cut-outs rather than pushing a cloth into them. Keep them away from water, perfume, hair spray and sanitiser, take them off before washing your hands, and store the pair in a soft pouch so they do not rub against each other.
