These gold kada come as a set of two and build their pattern from panels rather than a continuous surface. Rectangular sections filled with rows of small white pearls alternate with raised oval cabochons in red and green, and the two elements repeat around the band. The pearls soften what would otherwise be a fairly formal gold kada, and they make this pair considerably easier to wear in daylight than a heavily stoned design.
Each pearl panel holds three rows of small round pearls set close in a gold frame, with the frame edged in fine milling so the panel reads as a distinct block. Between the panels sit the cabochons: oval, domed and polished smooth rather than faceted, alternating red and green in their own gold collars, and each raised well above the band so it catches light from the side. Behind the panels the gold is pierced, which lets light through and takes weight out. The band steps in profile, widest at the pearl panels and narrower at the cabochons, so the kada has a rhythm to it rather than a flat face.
Pearls with gold read softer than stones with gold, which makes this pair a good choice for a daytime wedding function or a mehendi rather than a late reception. Red and green cabochons keep it traditional enough for a bridal outfit. Wear both on one wrist, and if you own pearl earrings this is the kada to pair them with.
Weddings and daytime functions, mehendi and haldi ceremonies, engagements, festivals, and gifting to someone who wears pearls more readily than stones.
This design is made in sizes 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 and 2.10. Indian bangle sizes count upward, so a 2.4 is a smaller fit than a 2.6 and a 2.8 is larger again, with 2.6 the size most women take. These slip on over the hand rather than opening on a hinge or a screw, so choosing correctly matters more here than it would on an adjustable bangle.
The reliable way to find your size is to take a bangle that already fits you, measure straight across the inside from edge to edge, and match that against a bangle size chart. If you do not own one, bring your thumb across to the base of your little finger as though you were slipping a bangle on, wrap a strip of paper snugly around the widest part of that shape, mark where it overlaps and measure it flat. If you fall between two sizes take the larger one: a bangle that will not pass the hand cannot be worn at all, while a slightly loose one still sits well. Send us your measurement on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size before the order is taken.
The pearls are the weak point: water, perfume and sanitiser dull them permanently and no cleaning will bring them back. Put the kada on after you have finished getting ready, wipe the gold with a dry soft cloth afterwards while avoiding the pearl panels, and store the pair in a soft pouch.
