These gold kada come as a set of two and are worked in deep red enamel, which is the most traditional bridal colour in Indian jewellery and the hardest to wear badly. Large paisley panels filled with red enamel run along the band, each carrying a pale kundan stone, with green enamel scrolls curling between them. The red is dense and slightly glossy, and against the gold it reads as rich rather than bright.
Each paisley is outlined in raised gold and filled with red enamel, and inside it a gold vine is drawn through the colour so the panel has internal detail rather than being a flat field of red. A pale kundan stone sits at the wide end of every paisley, flat and milky where the enamel is glossy. Between the paisleys, green enamel forms small leaf shapes and scrollwork, and further kundan stones are set at the junctions. The band is generously wide with a scalloped outline rather than straight edges, which follows the shape of the paisleys, and the gold is pierced behind the enamel panels to take out weight.
Red enamel on gold is bridal jewellery in its most classical form, and it belongs with a red, maroon or gold outfit where it ties in, or with ivory where it stands out sharply. Wear the pair on one wrist with silk or brocade and keep the other wrist bare or plain. Because the red is strong, avoid other coloured enamel elsewhere in the look.

This design is made in sizes 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 and 2.10. Indian bangle sizes count upward, so a 2.4 is a smaller fit than a 2.6 and a 2.8 is larger again, with 2.6 the size most women take. These slip on over the hand rather than opening on a hinge or a screw, so choosing correctly matters more here than it would on an adjustable bangle.
The reliable way to find your size is to take a bangle that already fits you, measure straight across the inside from edge to edge, and match that against a bangle size chart. If you do not own one, bring your thumb across to the base of your little finger as though you were slipping a bangle on, wrap a strip of paper snugly around the widest part of that shape, mark where it overlaps and measure it flat. If you fall between two sizes take the larger one: a bangle that will not pass the hand cannot be worn at all, while a slightly loose one still sits well. Send us your measurement on WhatsApp and we will confirm the size before the order is taken.
Enamel is glass and chips on impact, and there is a great deal of it here, so avoid hard surfaces and store the pair alone in a soft pouch. Clean with a dry soft brush only. Water and liquid polish get under the enamel edges and behind flat-set kundan, where they cannot be dried out.
