A flat-sided bangle built from repeating fan-shaped panels, each one filled with fine curved ribs, with small flowers set where the panels meet.
The fan is doing structural work, not just decoration. Curved ribs inside a panel stiffen it the way corrugation stiffens a sheet of metal, which lets the bangle stay light while holding its shape. It is the reason this reads as substantial without being heavy on the wrist.
Openwork also changes how the piece behaves in light. A solid gold-tone band gives you one broad reflection; an openwork band breaks that into dozens of small ones that shift as the wrist turns, so the bangle looks alive rather than static.
The repeating fan is one of the oldest motifs in Indian metalwork, descended from the shell and the peacock tail depending on who you ask, and it survives because it tiles neatly around a curve without the pattern breaking.
What makes a piece anti-tarnish is a clear protective coat over the plated brass. Brass tarnishes because its copper content reacts with air; put a sealed barrier between the two and the reaction slows to a crawl. That is the entire mechanism. It buys you a great deal of time, and it rewards being kept dry — water finding its way under a chipped coat does more damage than no coat at all.
Underneath everything this is brass, which is why it has some heft in the hand. That weight is a good sign at this price point — hollow, feather-light costume jewellery is usually thin plate over something that will bend out of shape.
The care that matters is dull and simple: keep it dry, keep it away from perfume and cleaning products, and wipe it down with a soft dry cloth before it goes away. Stored sealed in a pouch with the air pressed out, the finish lasts; left in a bathroom, it will not. Never use silver dip, polish or an ultrasonic cleaner on a coated piece — those strip the coating outright.
As a gift it is low-risk: no sizing to get wrong, no sharp edges, and a finish that survives ordinary handling. It arrives in a box ready to give.
What you see photographed is what ships. Colour on a screen is never exact — golds in particular look warmer on some phones than others — so treat the photo as close rather than perfect.
Sizing is the usual worry with anything that goes on a wrist, and it is less of one here: this is a standard adult fit, and a hinged or clasped piece goes on without having to be forced past the widest part of the hand.
If you are building a set, the pieces in this range share the same gold tone and the same finish, so two bought separately will match on the wrist. That is not something you can count on across different brands, where one plating can be visibly cooler than another.
